Texas Snakes & More snake birthday parties have grown in more than just numbers over the years. We thought we’d only do kid parties, but have found our “grown up parties” are a huge hit. From 18 to 88 year olds, partygoers have enjoyed learning about snakes through interactive education. The cell phones and cameras are flashing pictures of new Facebook profile pictures. Adults have a much greater fear and appreciation for these misunderstood animals than do children.
We bring non-venomous and non-aggressive snakes. We also provide waterless hand sanitizer before and after any contact with our snakes. What's more fun than getting your picture taken with a beautiful snake around your shoulders?
Testimonial from Cheryl (Clint's niece) after her 30th birthday party with snakes:
"Turning
30 is a big deal--an age at which one is no longer too young, though
isn't yet old, but somehow still inspires fear for many people.
I decided to set aside the fear and planned a fancy soiree to celebrate
my 30th birthday--mailed out invitations to friends and family,
arranged for a catered dinner, and planned beautiful decorations
for the hall I had rented for the party. I just couldn't decide
what to plan for entertainment--what could I do after blowing out
30 birthday candles and sharing cake with my guests? The hall didn't
have space for dancing, no particular type of live music would be
suitable for a guest list that spanned generations from young children
to elder adults, and 80 people is too large a group to play party
games! When I heard that Texas Snakes and More could bring live
snakes to my party and provide an educational and fun program, I
thought the idea was unique and would be memorable--a perfect way
to celebrate a milestone birthday! Sure enough, when Clint the Snake
Man showed up, he was able to take charge of the room, dispel some
myths about snakes, and ignite everyone's curiosity. I wasn't sure
what my guests would think, but when the snakes were introduced
one-by-one to the crowd, I was amazed to see how my guests behaved.
Instead of running away or being afraid, people were coming CLOSER
to see the snakes! And once people got comfortable with them, we
passed the snakes around the room. Everyone was laughing, and the
snakes were a great way to get people interacting with one another.
I have pictures from my party of friends and family--who didn't
know each other before--laughing and smiling together. The snakes
actually turned strangers into friends! And many of my friends who
were nervous at first ended up posing for pictures with snakes draped
across their shoulders! Even my mom, who used to boast that in 58
years she'd never touched a snake, couldn't resist holding one of
these gentle creatures. Months later, my friends are still talking
about the snakes at my party and are amazed at the pictures. Clint
and his snakes made my party unforgettable and provided a perfect
illustration for what it's like to turn 30--there's nothing to be
afraid of!"
"I should also mention that Clint is my uncle. He has had pet
snakes for my entire life, so I grew up playing with pythons and
dressing up with real live boas! Uncle Clint is my mom's youngest
brother, and like many little brothers, apparently Uncle Clint liked
to scare her with snakes when they were little kids. Even as an
adult, my mom refused to interact directly with his snakes. That
changed after my birthday party, when she got to see Clint's snake
program--even she was inspired to get up-close-and-personal with
these amazing creatures! Later on, she admitted her change of heart.
"I had no idea," she said. "My little brother is
a genius!"
